Email advertising. Know-how!

Published in september, 20 of 2013

Marketing investments are constantly growing and companies all over the world spend fortunes on online advertising that acquires new customers who purchase their products/services.

There are different ways to promote a business on the Internet and one of the most common is email advertising. There are professionals who will tell you that email marketing is old-fashioned.

After all, there are other venues like social media or mobile marketing that get all attention nowadays. You have may also heard that email marketing is “out of date”. Well that it's not actually true as emails that contain a good content, can give you a high conversion rate.

But what happens if … your email campaign fails and the conversion rate you receive from your contact is not rewarding? Can you really afford to loose customers and profit?

Everything depends on you and your approach. There are many companies out there, that do not really know how to successfully execute email marketing strategies. The most common mistakes are: unspecified content, or a content that is focused only on selling.

There are companies on the market that buy email lists in order to reach more people and increase their profit. But, the true is that this practice is not the best solution as the email recipients will probably denounce your emails as spam!

If you have already purchased a contact list, you may already be on a blacklist …

Acquiring new email contacts require long-term planning. While creating campaigns you need to avoid repeating previously sent content, from which you did not receive many conversions. What really works is a value exchange: You offer to your contacts a benefit and receive a “click” back.

Your subscribers need to know they can relay on you and that your content gives them something special! Good quality content also depends on your relationship with the audience. Make sure you interact with them. But be careful! Do not make them feel like you are better or have more knowledge than them. Do not show off! Nobody wants to know how good you are or what you have achieved in your life. Just be modest and act as if you were one of them.

Finally, always create “call to action” emails when sending email campaigns. This way you are going to encourage the readers to click on links that lead to your online store or specific products. You should also know that “call to action” emails have higher conversion and open rate than ordinary ones!

To execute email marketing campaign, we recommend that all emails of yours contain an opt-in option.

Do not forget! Always measure the ROI (return on investment) in order to find our how effective you email marketing is
