If you are one of those who daily receive tons of unsolicited e-mails, then you will find the following post useful! Take a look at some tips that can help you reduce the number of junk messages or even completely stop getting junk emails in your Inbox.

Do not forward spam chain emails you receive! These emails increase traffic, clog servers and spread irrelevant content on the Internet. These sort of messages also promote spammers, so the best thing you can do when you receive one is to delete it straight away without opening.

Be careful when sharing your email on chats or forums! Spammers often use all sorts of programs to capture email addresses, so when accessing chats or forums, make sure you substitute (if possible) the letters for numbers so that robots will not be able to identify the change. A simple example is to replace the letter: “o” for the number: “0” (zero). By doing so, your email will not be picked up by robots but will be easily understood by people who try to get in touch with you.

Never respond to a SPAM! If you do this you will only confirm to the spammer that your email is still active and you are willing to receive more unwanted emails. What you can do instead is to find an unsubscribe link, that is usually located in the footer. If the email does not contain such link move the message to your SPAM folder and let your email provider do all the work.

Be careful not to disclose your email on public sites! Be aware, because posting your email address in public places is like an invitation for spammers to send you unwanted emails.

Create different email account for different purposes! By doing so, you prevent your private email account from being affected by spam messages! You can for example open an account exclusively for dealing with diverse subjects, which you are going to use on public websites such as forums, chats, blogs, virtual shopping, etc. so that you prevent your personal email account from receiving unwanted emails.

Do you use Outlook? For those who use Outlook we recommend that you use a tool called: “Junk Email Filter” that helps evaluate all incoming messages accurately in order to identify spam. This tool allows you to increase the level of protection so that you are able to add email addresses into the list of either trusted or blocked senders. By doi9ng so you will even have better control over the emails that are sent into your mailbox.

Beware of emails from companies that ask for personal information! Serious companies do not send emails to their clients asking for personal data. Should this happen, be aware! It may be a case of Phishing and fraudulent emails that someone is using to steal your personal information. In this case, do not provide any information, and immediately delete received message.
